Jade Slip is cosmetic and stays cosmetic. No stats, no advantage, nothing that makes a player who has it stronger than one who does not. A server without it plays exactly the same game.

That is a deliberate line and it will not move. If something in here ever makes a Jade Slip player stronger rather than better-dressed, it is a bug and it will be treated as one.

At a glance

  • Five palettes, selectable from Cultivation's own settings
  • A brighter aura set, eight more sect banners, six titles
  • Kept current with each Cultivation release
  • Purely cosmetic — no progression or balance effect

Five palettes

Frost Peak · Verdant Hall · Bloodmoon · Golden Court · Ink Wash.

  • Each is a complete recolor of every one of Cultivation's menu documents — every page, every card, the HUD, and the skill tree's nine branch halos, which are the fiddliest part and the one most likely to be skipped.
  • They cover addon pages too, so a server running something with its own Cultivation pages gets those in your palette rather than one stubbornly crimson page in an otherwise frost-blue menu.
  • Chosen from the theme dropdown in Cultivation's own Settings page, which lists every installed look from any mod. Jade Slip's separate Palettes tab was removed in v0.1.2 once that shared list existed.
  • Regenerated against every Cultivation release, because a palette that has not kept pace means a themed page quietly missing whatever the base mod just added.

The aura you give off

  • Your cultivation aura is the only cosmetic in the mod that other players read from a distance.
  • Jade Slip ships its own aura set, emitting roughly twice as thickly as the base mod's, so your realm reads at proper range instead of only up close.
  • One switch returns you to the quieter original.

Banners, titles and lore

  • Eight more sect hall banners to fly over a claimed hall, on top of the six Cultivation ships.
  • Six cosmetic titles. Five are earned by wearing the palette they belong to — so settling on one says something, rather than everyone carrying all five at once.
  • Four Codex articles, written as lore rather than mechanics: where the slips came from, what a banner meant to the people who first raised one, and why the Four Symbols are the four they are.

A little more room

The one part that is not purely decorative, and worth being precise about.

  • Six technique keybind layouts instead of three, and five cultivation profiles instead of three.
  • A keybind layout is a saved arrangement of the same slots everybody gets; a profile is a separate save of a character.
  • Neither grants a single point of power. Nobody with Jade Slip can fire an art a plain-Cultivation player cannot.

For server owners

  • Both caps, the per-look permission nodes, the titles and the aura are all editable in game from Cultivation's admin page.
  • Palettes-Require-Permission and Banners-Require-Permission take effect immediately, with no restart — hand looks out as rank rewards instead of giving everyone everything.
  • They gate choosing, not keeping: a player already wearing a palette keeps wearing it, and a sect keeps flying its banner. Turn permissions on before handing the looks out if you want the binding from the start.
  • Jade Slip verifies itself against this site. If it cannot verify for 30 days it withdraws its cosmetics and falls back to Cultivation's own look — nothing is deleted, saved choices are kept, and everything returns the moment the build is current. An offline server gets a week of console warnings first.

What it needs

  • Cultivation 0.9.1 or newer — the manifest will stop an install on anything older rather than let you find out mid-session.
  • Server-side only. Your players install nothing.
  • Cultivation itself is free and stays free. This is what supporting it buys, and it is what pays for the time that goes into the free half.

Version history

    • Updated to run against Hytale Server API 0.6.0-pre.13.1.
    • The palette generator now tracks two more addons into the themed page set — CultivationClasses and SoulRings — so a server running either alongside Jade Slip gets those pages in the chosen palette too, instead of left in the base look.
    • No other functional changes in this release.
