Lamia

New in Update Version 4.0.0, the Lamia is the fourth Mythical Creature, beside the Mermaid, Werewolf and Vampire: your own upper body, hair and cosmetics over a long serpent tail.

What it does

  • No water, no nightfall, no potion: choosing the Lamia is the transformation. Pick Lamia as your active form in the Mythical Creatures menu (/mc) and you are a Lamia on land and in the water until you pick something else.
  • Keeps your own skin, hair and cosmetics above the tail. Armor you have switched off in Hytale’s own armor-visibility settings never hides anything.
  • Has an animation for every player animation. On land she glides on a slithering wave with her arms relaxed instead of running, and her tail plants and pushes her up when she jumps. Swimming, sitting, sleeping, riding and climbing all fit the tail.
  • Plays a green-gold flare of shed scales when you change, and a smaller one when you change back. A server admin can turn the particles off in the Lamia Config.
  • A player can switch the transformation off for themselves with the Lamia Transformation toggle in the Mythical Creatures menu, or /mc lamia toggle.

Tail Colors and Cosmetics

Open the Lamia menu with /mc lamia (or /mc lam).

  • Twelve tail colors – the mermaid’s eight free colors (orange, pink, purple, rose, lime, blue, aqua and cyan) plus Black, Crimson, Deep Violet and Abyss.
  • Three optional cosmetics, each off until you pick it:
    • Cobra Hood – a cobra-style hood.
    • Back Spines – a row of spines down your back and along the tail.
    • Scale Fringe – a fringe of scales at the waist.

For Server Owners

  • "Enable-Lamia-Transformation" in the Default Config turns the Lamia off for the whole server. It is also the Allow lamias row in the Server Settings menu.
  • The Lamia has exactly one mode, so there is no Transformation-Mode to set and no potions to brew.
  • With Endless Leveling installed and "Default-Mermaids-Content" off, the Lamia is race-locked: only races whose id starts with lamia can take the form, and those races take it automatically. Mermaids Premium adds a six-race Lamia line, with the Venom Fangs passive.
